National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Mehol K. Sadain met with Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)-Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Studies (SMIIC) Secretary General Haluk Dag in Istanbul, Turkey last 23 May 2013 to discuss the initiatives of important Muslim countries on Halal. NCMF-BMEA Holds Waqf Management Forum
The NCMF-Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs and in partnership with Asian Institute of Management Executive Education Lifelong Learning Center held a one day Waqaf Management forum on April 29, 2013 at Makati City, Philippines. The forum is aimed at gathering inputs on how the structural and organizational system of Waqf Management operates. METRO MANILA—In celebration of International Women’s Month, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) held a two-part Hijab Forum in Metro Manila on March 20, 2013 and in Zamboanga City March 25, 2013. The forum was organized to provide a venue for various government institutions and non-government organizations to discuss the importance of hijab or veil to Muslim Filipino women and the protection afforded by Philippine laws and the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines. Philippine-Turkey Mutual Cooperation for Muslim Filipino Community Development
The Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Turkey deliberated in a meeting possible area of coordination in the field of education for Muslim Filipino Community Development. The Philippines, through the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, were represented by Commissioner Mirkarl T. Allian, Commissioner Salem C. Demuna and Commissioner Esmael W. Ebrahim. TAGUIG CITY (23 March 2013)—Anchored on the empowerment of Muslim communities in Metro Manila, the Office of the Deputy Executive Director, headed by Atty. Algamar A. Latiph, conducted a program with a theme “Empowering Women, Building Community” at Quiapo Dos in Taguig City.
